1983 to 1987—Editorial staff member: rewrite, copyediting, proofreading, translation.
1980 to 1983—Reporter on German political, economic, and cultural affairs. Duties included translation from German to English.
1974 to 1983—Reporter on Soviet political, economic, and cultural affairs. Duties included translation from Russian to English, mostly of articles from the Soviet press; preparation of reports concerning developments in the U.S.S.R.; and writing of news analysis articles on Soviet affairs.
