Editing, reviewing translations, proofreading: Usually 30.00 USD per hour. The terms "editing, reviewing, and proofreading" are often thought to be synonymous, so let me explain:

• Editing is the most time-consuming. It involves reviewing the translation, term and content research if the translation seems incorrect, copyediting to improve style, and proofreading for spelling and grammatical errors. At the client's request and with the client's guidance, it can also include shortening text that is too verbose, expanding sections that are unclear, or rearranging text for greater impact.
• Reviewing means checking the translation and proofreading the target text for spelling and grammatical errors.
• Proofreading is monolingual; it means reading the English text for spelling and grammatical errors. The source language text is only consulted in unusual circumstances.
